Mission'/

Dedicated to creating and implementing practical solutions for Wisconsin stakeholder damage prevention challenges through collaboration, education and legislative review.

 

Vision

Build shared partnerships committed to the creation, promotion and implementation of damage prevention best practices.

 

Goals

The initial goal, and sole focus at this time, is to discuss the various causes of the utility locating problem, determine potential solutions, and enact those solutions to bring about change and improvements.

 

Other future goals are:

  • Develop and endorse best practices which promote adherence to Wisconsin State Statutes and Diggers Hotline policies/procedures.
    • Promote smart design practices to minimize excavation near existing underground facilities.
  • Educate policy makers and industry leaders of the solutions the Wisconsin Damage Prevention Council endorses.
  • Educate policy makers and industry leaders of the important issues the Wisconsin Damage Prevention Council is discussing.
  • Provide a collaborative forum for stakeholders to identify and highlight effective damage prevention practices and programs.
  • Promote the Wisconsin Damage Prevention Council and provide updates by presenting at industry conferences/meetings.
  • Review current law and industry policies identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and publish a repository of upcoming excavation projects.
  • Develop a contact list for damage prevention education and outreach.
  • Participation by a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Meet regularly.

Who Should Attend?

Wisconsin Damage Prevention Stakeholders.

 

Stakeholders are defined as organizations directly involved in the damage prevention industry.  Some examples of Stakeholders are:  Diggers Hotline, member facility owners, government (municipal, county, and state), excavators, planning and design engineers, surveyors, and contract locators.
